Despite being heavily affected by flooding in 2011, Yeronga is still a very popular suburb for both property investors and tenants due to the close proximity to the city, the significant amount of green space and the larger blocks of land in a riverfront location. Yeronga has great appeal as it is still quite affordable yet extremely accessible and would be one of the greenest suburbs in Brisbane with parkland everywhere. As the Queensland Tennis Centre development continues to create new precincts and the Cross River Rail is finalised in 2022, we believe Yeronga will be in higher demand as time continues.
Yeronga is simply accessed via road from the CBD within about 10-15 minutes in peak hour but also has great access to Ipswich Rd if heading away from the city. There is also the train, regular bus services and you can cycle along the river and the “River Loop” as it is known to the locals, is a great bike ride with minimal main road exposure.
Yeronga has a couple of small shopping centres within the suburb itself with a number of smaller retailers. There are also a number of little precincts with cafes and restaurants for convenience. The majority of shops are located on Fairfield Rd with smaller centres on quieter roads.
Yeronga hasn’t traditionally been a restaurant and café precinct because of its proximity to West End and Woolloongabba. It does however have everything that local residents require and little cafes and restaurants like Hyde Away Café and Café 82 are very popular with locals.
School Catchment Zones
Yeronga State Primary and Yeronga State High are the local catchment zones however there are also private schools like St Lawrences, Churchie and Somerville House in nearby suburbs of Woolloongabba and East Brisbane.
Yeronga has plenty of things to keep its residents occupied on weekends from a good afternoon at the Yeronga Tennis Centre or Qld Tennis Centre, picnics along the Corso or a trip to the Yeronga Services Club for a great steak.
