Taringa has a strong appeal for tenants who want to live close to the CBD with good transport but without the busyness. Taringa is only approximately 5km from the CBD by road and has a number of separate pockets with different housing styles making it quite appealing.

Transport Options

Taringa is connected to the CBD via regular train and bus services as well as being only about 20 minutes via road in peak hour. There is also access to the citycat from neighbouring suburb Toowong at the Regatta Hotel.

Local Shops

Taringa has a small set of shops located on Hillsdon Rd with a local convenience store, otherwise the only small set of shops is on Moggill Rd near the train station. The alternative for major shopping is the neighbouring suburb of Indooroopilly which is home to a major Brisbane Shopping Centre.

Restaurants/Cafe

Taringa is quite limited in this regard however a boutique café called Abode has taken up home in the Hillsdon Rd centre and is extremely popular with a large outdoor seating area and area for kids to runaround. Other options are a great butcher on Moggill Rd and a number of small tucked away restaurants.

School Catchment Zones

There is no Taringa state school however Taringa falls within the Indooroopilly State Primary and High School which are both highly ranked schools. Brisbane Boys College is the closest boys private school in the neighbouring suburb of Toowong.

Recreation

There are a couple of bars in Toowong and Indooroopilly for a lazy weekend drink or options of bike riding into the city or South Bank on the bike paths.
