East Brisbane has long been in our opinion, an undervalued suburb. It is incredibly convenient, has beautiful housing and has plenty of lifestyle and entertainment options. When we are leasing units, townhouses or houses within East Brisbane, our property management team always gets multiple enquiries within the first 2 days. The area is undergoing significant gentrification and improvement which long term we believe will make East Brisbane a very desirable suburb. Rental yields are reasonably strong in East Brisbane.
East Brisbane is less than a 10 minute drive to the CBD in peak hour so despite having the bus and ferry from Mowbray Park, most residents will drive to where they need to go.
East Brisbane has plenty of shopping options with shops on Lytton Rd and Stanley Street. For groceries the IGA on Lytton Rd or the Coles at Gabba Apartments are your closest two supermarkets.
East Brisbane is seeing new cafes and restaurants popping up regularly but it is hard to go past a few of the great restaurants on Stanley Street. If you are looking for a good meal or coffee, Catbird is a quaint restaurant that is owned and run by a family with beautiful food and excellent service, and Foxy Bean do a great weekend breakfast.
School Catchment Zones
East Brisbane State Primary School and Coorparoo Secondary College are the two local catchment zones however East Brisbane is also home to Anglican Church Grammar School known to locals as “Churchie”. This is a very well respected and Private Boys School that competes in the GPS sporting competition.
As mentioned above, East Brisbane is so convenient that you won’t be hard pressed to find something to do. A visit to the Gabba, a trip down to Kangaroo Point cliffs for rock climbing, a ferry trip to the city or New Farm Park, lawn bowls at East Brisbane Bowls Club or sampling the local restaurants and cafes are just a few of the ways to spend a weekend.
