Dutton Park QLD 4102
Dutton Park is a relatively small suburb that has traditionally flown under the radar however with the announcement of the Cross River Rail and the new Inner City South State Secondary College as well as the overhaul of the Boggo Rail Jail Precinct, Dutton Park is starting to become more popular and more widely known. It borders Highgate Hill and Woolloongabba and provides great family homes with a growing café culture and easy transport.
Currently Dutton Park is accessed via train and bus however this is further to be improved with the construction of Cross River Rail having one of the major interchanges located in Dutton Park. There is also the City Cycle bike hire in the area.
Fashion and retail therapy is best satisfied by taking a train or bus to the CBD or a major shopping centre in a neighbouring suburb as there are very few shops in Dutton Park.
Dutton Park diners are tending to travel to the neighbouring suburbs of West End and Woolloongabba to satisfy their culinary desires, however with the redevelopment of Boggo Rd and the popularity of the area, small cafes are beginning to pop up.
School Catchment Zones
Dutton Park is home to Dutton Park State School and until 2022 will be part of the Brisbane State High School Catchment zone. There is a lot of talk that Dutton Park being removed will see house prices reduce however our belief is that with the establishment of the new school that is called Inner City South State Secondary College and this being a state of the art school and having excellent access to the University of Qld campus and their significant sporting facilities, that this may actually be a bonus for Dutton Park property investors.
As mentioned above, Dutton Park is a relatively small suburb with limited entertainment within the suburb. In the surrounding neighbourhood however there are options aplenty including rock climbing the Kangaroo Point Cliffs, City Cat trips to the city or other suburbs, a walk over the Green bridge to the University of Queensland for some running, tennis or swimming or a visit to a local rowing shed.
