Auchenflower train station splits the suburb in two and is only 2 stations from the CBD or 5-10 minutes in peak hour. There are also regular bus services and very easy driving access which can get you into the CBD in less than 15 minutes in peak hour traffic.

Auchenflower doesn’t have a shopping centre of its own however there is a small set of shops located on Milton Rd and a number of other small commercial centres along the main roads with small cafes and restaurants. The nearest supermarket is in the neighbouring suburbs of Toowong and Paddington.

Restaurants/Cafe

Restaurants and cafes are plentiful in Auchenflower tucked into converted Queenslanders, small precincts on the main roads and small tucked away spots. Blue Duck on Milton Rd provides high end dining and the numerous cafes on the back roads are a hot spot for local residents and businesses.

School Catchment Zones

Auchenflower falls into the Milton State School or Rainworth State School catchment zones depending on which pocket you are in. Both schools are in very high demand and have a strong reputation. There is no high school in Auchenflower however Brisbane Boys College is located in the neighbouring suburb of Toowong.

Recreation

Auchenflower backs onto Mt Coot-tha providing some excellent opportunity for bushwalking and hiking. There are also plenty of bike paths and river frontage providing the options for picnics and relaxing weekend strolls or rides into the city or South Bank.
